Career and Training

career

The research focus Kiel Life Science (KLS) offers its researchers a variety of training and career opportunities from early career up to senior scientists at Kiel University. Professional training and individual career prospects help to support researchers on different stages within their life science research careers. Carried out by partner institutions, people within the KLS network have access to a variety of different facilities: At Kiel University, the master’s programme Medical Life Sciences trains students for careers in biomedical research. The international graduate school Max-Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology in Plön offers training in contemporary evolutionary biology. The Research Training Group 1743 offers studies in the field of the environmental influences responsible for the development of chronic diseases. On upper career levels from postdoc up to professor, KLS-fellowships offer opportunities for highly performing scientists, and thus help to advance life science research in Kiel.
